Luxury new-build villa, with an amazing view

Soft winters and sun-drenched summer days. Here, where the Arade River and the Atlantic Ocean meet, lies the authentic fishing village of Ferragudo. White buildings, steep streets, lively squares, and beautiful beaches. It's hard to believe that this charming village in the Algarve has not yet been discovered by tourists. A well-preserved secret in the most beautiful region of Europe, where the quality of life is unparalleled. Sublime living under the sun, in a climate that can best be described as delightfully relaxed.

Here arises Villa Lagoa. Sea view, one with nature, ultimate privacy, and a world of possibilities around the corner. A villa designed with the idea that the ultimate enjoyment begins as soon as you walk onto the property and are almost sucked inside. 'A perfect escape from reality' in one of the last spots in the region where a building permit could be granted so close to the coast. With the assurance, therefore, that the tranquility that descends here will never be disturbed.

With a spacious floor area, this villa is definitely large. However, the design is so well thought out that it feels intimate everywhere. Whether you are staying there as a couple or hosting friends and family, you can be sociable and retreat as well. To train in the private gym, enjoy the wellness spa with hammam and sauna, daydream in the cinema or recreation lounge, where the bar and wine cellar are also located.

Villa Lagoa seems to have risen from the ground, but is so carefully placed that there is a 280-degree view of the south coast of Portugal and the other side offers a panoramic view of the beautiful Monchique mountains. The view is absolutely spectacular everywhere, and it is even more so on the rooftop terrace with an outdoor kitchen and jacuzzi.

It's worth to be mentioned that the Dutch owner actually wanted to have this villa built for himself. He bought this last piece of building land with the intention of living there but eventually moved to the Dutch Antilles. That is definitely fortunate for those who will actually occupy the villa because developing a project in Portugal takes a long breath. Life here is slow, lunches are long and extensive, and the building and permit process also takes a lot of time. The new owner is spared the latter; Villa Lagoa can be delivered turnkey.

How it is designed has been masterfully expressed by Isabella Filusch. Isabella and her team from design studio Daudi Concepts have put all their passion and love into the design, which she calls her "masterpiece." She has translated everything nature has to offer into a tailor-made interior design. "We used nature as inspiration and created from there. The sand, stones, and greenery of Portugal, we observed and absorbed on-site. We are emotional people, but the trust we received from our client makes us capable of great things."

The living spaces, associated routing, comfort, and use were the basis for the design, she explains. "Because we can come up with something that looks beautiful, but it always has to be in line with reality. And the reality here is comfort, harmony, and luxury." Who will be the residents, she wondered. "Do they like to lounge, do they like to have long meals, do they have children, is this their second home, how often will they be there? They are people who love luxury but also love nature and choose consciously for a special place where the view will never get boring. People who embrace both coziness, luxury, and space, and who also value their privacy. They really feel at home here.

Huge, but not overwhelming. Spacious but also intimate. Warm, aesthetic, in balance with the feeling and future-oriented. Less is more. These are words that resonate with Isabella when she describes Villa Lagoa. "A good foundation must be harmonious but also timeless." So that you can change it to your own taste in a snap at any time. The use of timeless materials, floors, and walls is the basis, and when the foundation is right, everything is possible.

She carefully selected the materials. "Inspired by the rocks, the color of the soil, the sea view, and the landscape. We looked at sightlines and arranged each space in such a way that the view is protected and its beauty is emphasized." All materials were locally sourced. "From Spain or Portugal. This is not only sustainable and future-proof, but also very pure. There is a lot of feeling, a lot of warmth in it. It is balanced, as everything in nature is balanced. Nature is not straightforward, but often uneven, deviating, and just different. This is reflected in the stone interior walls and the roof that extends over a part of the terrace. Nature was definitely our compass."

Time for a tour. And we start when we get in the car from the airplane at Faro Airport. We drive past golf courses, the coast, and make a stopover in Lagoa, where we pick up a few bottles of excellent white wine that this region has become world-famous for. Then back towards the coast, it gradually becomes quieter, and there, against the hills, the white fishing village of Ferragudo shines in the sun.

The idyllic beach with its lovely fish restaurant is for tonight, first, we turn onto the driveway of Villa Lagoa from R. de Boa Nova. Downstairs is the indoor garage, which can accommodate 7 cars, where we park the car. We've driven for an hour, so we take the stairs or elevator to the ground floor, where the living room and kitchen island have formed an alliance. We take the luggage to the VIP bedroom and head out to the terrace with a good glass of wine. A dip in the pool and a toast to a pleasant stay: we're home again.

That's the ground floor so far. The elevator goes down to -1, where we find four bedrooms (each with its own bathroom) for guests or children. On this floor, we also find the wellness, the spa, the sauna, and the gym. In the horizontal garden, we come across a hidden treasure, an outdoor shower. Nothing has been left to chance. The elevator leads to -2, where the car is in the garage. This floor is also surprising. Here, the grandeur is the peculiarity that characterizes the villa. Cozy, inviting, and just a little different. Take a seat in the recreation lounge or at the bar for a good conversation.

With the wine cellar, containing the most beautiful hidden wines, within reach. An evening out in your own cinema, or take the elevator to the terrace above the living room, at the top of the villa, to roast a fish and enjoy the overwhelming view?

For those who want to shut out the world, this villa is the best. But for those who want to let the world in as well. Drive just over two hours and you are in Seville, in no time you are in the heart of Lisbon. Great for those who seek connection with international life, wonderful for those who love a secluded life.
