A distinguished villa set on generous private grounds, surrounded by peace, nature, and breathtaking, typical  Dutch views across the water. Does this description perfectly reflect your vision of an ideal home? Then this villa on the Zeedijk, in the charming village of Uitdam, may well be the place where true residential bliss awaits. This classic villa, De Stolp, blends contemporary luxury seamlessly with the charm of its rural surroundings, making it the perfect oasis to enjoy the very best of outdoor living.

Quietude is not only found outdoors—indoors, it is equally present. A harmonious palette of colors and materials plays a key role in creating this serene atmosphere. Most walls are painted in soft, light tones, while all floors feature light wood-look PVC over a concrete base. Built-in ceiling spotlights throughout the home add to the sense of cohesion and understated elegance.

Completed in 2019, the home is equipped with all modern comforts and amenities. With generous living spaces, expansive windows, and four bedrooms—each with its own attached bathroom—the residence exudes light and openness. There is also the possibility to create a fifth bedroom on the top floor. Set on a 3,295 m² plot, the property offers exceptional privacy. The beautifully landscaped garden extends all the way to the water’s edge, where a private dock awaits—ideal for those with a passion for life on the water.

Uitdam is a small yet charming village on the shores of the Markermeer—formerly the Zuiderzee—renowned for its wide-open views, tranquility, and sense of privacy. It offers the best of both worlds: the peace of the countryside combined with close proximity to the city. Located on a peninsula, the Zeedijk connects you directly to nature. Here, you can immerse yourself in the idyllic surroundings—whether walking, cycling, or sailing—along the water’s edge and through the lush green polders. You’ll also find various recreational areas and nature reserves nearby. From the villa, you enjoy a sweeping view over the dike, the village houses, and the water beyond—a truly captivating scene. It’s a rare opportunity for those seeking exceptional living in an extraordinary setting. This is waterfront living at its finest.

Additional features

The entire ground floor is finished with a PVC floor laid over a concrete base, offering both underfloor heating and cooling— providing a pleasant indoor climate throughout the year. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. The villa features four en suite bathrooms: three with both a bathtub and a shower, and one with a shower only. The walls are elegantly finished with sophisticated marble panels. Recessed ceiling spotlights provide warm, atmospheric lighting throughout. Lastly, the villa includes a private dock.

Entrance

The dike along the Markermeer seamlessly transitions into a paved driveway laid with traditional brickwork. Passing through iron gates flanked by two stately pillars, you arrive at the outbuilding, which houses two garage spaces. The driveway, lined with trees on both sides, exudes an elegant and distinguished character. To the left, a terrace has been created with built-in features, including a table tennis table. A double front door offers a covered entrance to the main hall. You are immediately struck by the contrast—the villa’s classic exterior conceals a sleek, modern, and inviting interior. The predominantly calm and understated design allows the villa’s distinctive details to truly stand out. The first of these eye-catching features can be found in the entrance hall, where one wall is adorned with contemporary wooden slats. To the right, you’ll find the utility cabinet and a stylishly designed cloakroom.

Living

At the end of the hallway, a pair of modern pivot doors opens into the expansive L-shaped living area. Large windows with elegant shutters allow daylight to pour into the stylish lounge, bathing the space in natural light. The ceiling, window frames, and several walls are finished in light tones, creating a sense of serenity. This peaceful atmosphere is subtly enriched by a taupe accent wall and a striking feature wall that houses the gas fireplace and television, finished with a bold leather hide.

The generous space invites rest and comfort. Cold autumn days, with the wind howling around the house, become a delight when you’re curled up by the fire with a fine glass of wine.
In summer, simply open the tall glass garden doors and step out onto the terrace. Even when you prefer the comfort of being indoors, the open layout maintains a strong sense of connection with the outside.

From the living room, the view through the garden doors is almost like a painting—reminiscent of a classic puzzle scene. From the sofa, you can watch the sailboats quietly glide across the water.

Kitchen

The second part of the L-shaped living area, subtly divided by a built-in cabinet, serves as the dining space. A large wooden table with seating for eight takes center stage here. The windows are dressed with soft in between curtains and elegant taupe drapes. From the dining table, you enjoy a clear view into the luxurious kitchen.

A tall, black built-in cabinet wall extends all the way to the ceiling and houses high-end integrated appliances, including a coffee machine, an oven, and a combination or steam microwave. The wall is framed from floor to ceiling by a freezer on the left and a refrigerator on the right.

The kitchen island, complete with a built-in dishwasher, may well become your favorite spot in this stunning villa. From the natural stone countertop, you enjoy a view over the terrace and the swimming pool, with the Markermeer in the background. It’s a truly inspiring setting—offering all the space you need to experiment with your favorite recipes while taking in the magnificent scenery.

Cooking in this setting becomes a refined experience. Instead of a conventional stove, separate induction cooktops are seamlessly integrated into the countertop—known as ‘PITT cooking’. With the push of a button, the automatic extractor rises directly from the worktop. Beside it, the sink is equipped with a built-in tap and a Quooker for instant boiling water.

This kitchen masterfully combines visual elegance with thoughtful functionality. The island offers an impressive amount of storage space behind seamless cabinets and drawers. Prefer to leave the cooking to someone else? Simply take a seat on one of the six barstools—and perhaps enjoy a little tasting in the meantime. The terrace is also directly accessible from the kitchen via sliding glass doors.

Behind a door in the kitchen, you’ll find the laundry and utility room, equipped with connections for both a washing machine and dryer. The appliances can be placed side by side on an elevated platform—ideal for comfortable loading and unloading.

First floor

The staircase to the first floor is located in the entrance hall. At the top, you arrive on a galleried landing overlooking the entrance hall. From there all four bedrooms are accessible.

The first bedroom features an angled ceiling and three skylights. The neutral base tones are complemented by a large black built-in wardrobe and bronze-colored accents, such as the two armchairs and the double bed with a leather-look headboard—creating a luxurious and serene atmosphere.

This bedroom also has its own en suite bathroom, which includes a skylight as well. The bathroom is fitted with a double washbasin, a wall-mounted toilet, a bathtub, and a spacious walk-in shower enclosed by glass panels—offering a relaxing experience beneath the soothing flow of the rainfall shower.

The second bedroom seamlessly continues the style of the first. The color palette mirrors that of the first room, creating a harmonious atmosphere. This space also accommodates a double bed and features two skylights. The attached bathroom is equally well-appointed, offering a bathtub, a washbasin with built-in storage, and a walk-in shower enclosed by a glass partition.

The third bedroom also features an en suite bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, a walk-in shower enclosed by a glass partition, and a vanity unit with a tap and built-in drawers.

The fourth bedroom aligns beautifully with the style of the other rooms. There is ample space for a double bed, and the en suite bathroom is finished in the same elegant design. It features a washbasin with a vanity unit and a spacious walk-in shower behind a glass partition—offering a comfortable and refreshing shower experience.

Attic floor

From the landing, a fixed staircase leads to the attic floor. This spacious area is currently used for storage and also houses the technical installations. However, it offers excellent potential to create a fifth bedroom or an additional multifunctional space, should you wish to expand the living area further.

Outdoor living

The interior style flows seamlessly into the outdoor spaces. Does the wall between the kitchen and the garden room look familiar? That’s no coincidence—the same wooden slats from the entrance hall are featured here as well. The garden terrace is finished with a herringbone-patterned PVC floor, and the comfortable outdoor seating area is enclosed by glass walls. When the sun warms the glass, it creates a wonderfully cozy atmosphere. Even as the days grow shorter and the evenings cooler, the terrace heaters offer a pleasant alternative. All glass walls in the garden room are also fitted with automatic screens, effortlessly blending comfort and ambiance.

The terrace is furnished with a grey corner sofa, a pouf that doubles as a table, and two armchairs. For elevated dining, there is an eight-person outdoor dining set. Looking to start your day on the right note? Take an refreshing morning dip in the swimming pool, measuring 5 by 11 meters. Afterwards, refresh yourself under the elegant waterfall feature beside the pool, before unwinding on one of the comfortable sun loungers.

Two large pergolas grace the backyard—one designed as a lounge area, the other as an outdoor dining space. The expansive, low-maintenance garden is landscaped with generous lawns and well-placed planting borders, perfectly complementing the style of the villa.

And then there’s the private dock—an extension of outdoor living. The wooden decking is reinforced along the shoreline with so-called water breakers, constructed using specially imported stones from Belgium. From here, you can effortlessly set off with your own boat and head straight toward open waters.

Surroundings

This exceptional villa is located along the idyllic Zeedijk in Uitdam, just a 20-minute drive from the vibrant city center of Amsterdam. The capital is also easily accessible by public transport. The charming villages of Volendam and Marken are nearby as well, at approximately 20 and 10 minutes by car, respectively.

Residents of Uitdam take great pride in preserving the distinctive character of the landscape—the entire dike is designated as a provincial heritage site. According to the current owner, repose reigns in and around the villa: “Peace never gets boring, because you’re never truly alone here. When the winters are cold enough, the whole community comes together to skate on the Markermeer—it’s incredibly cozy,” he says. “It’s always beautiful here—whether it’s spring or autumn, summer or winter. Each season has its own charm, and it’s something truly special to experience.”

History

The marina of Uitdam, located on the Markermeer, offers 270 permanent berths and 50 moorings for passing visitors. Within just a few hours of sailing, you can reach Almere, Amsterdam, or one of the many charming villages along the former Zuiderzee.

For many years, maritime trade was a vital source of income in Uitdam, especially during the era of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). Despite its modest size, the village played a significant role in the history of seafaring. Just outside the port of Amsterdam lay sandbanks, the most famous of which was Pampus. Ships had to wait for high tide to cross these shallow waters—costing precious time.

It was the inventive minds of Uitdam’s residents who came up with a solution: so-called “ship camels”—large floating devices filled with ballast water. These were attached to both sides of a vessel, after which the water was pumped out, lifting the ship and allowing it to glide over the sandbanks. This ingenious innovation, born in Uitdam, is still used around the world to this day.
